Welcome to the DMD Scotland newsletter for Autumn 2018
Christmas is coming and Hogmanay is on its way – so there can be no better time to look ahead at the many exciting media placement opportunities we have to offer you this season.
PPA Scotland Magfest
DMD is delighted to once again be sponsoring the annual PPA Magfest at Edinburgh’s Central Hall. We look forward as ever to hearing from the programme’s many first class speakers, to meeting up with old friends and making more than a few new ones!
Scotland’s publishers have to be the most enthusiastic and inspiring about their profession, and Magfest invariably provides the perfect platform for their passions.
Come and have a chat with us at the DMD booth, to find out how we could help boost brand awareness of your titles.
Airport profile – Edinburgh
Here are just a few good reasons why DMD placements at Edinburgh Airport deliver the perfect fit for your publication.
DMD Media Wall
This Christmas you could see your magazine or newspaper featured on any or all of our eye-catching DMD Media Wall displays at airside locations across Scotland.
Find out more about Media Walls
Our client airports are especially bustling over Christmas and Hogmanay, and we’re now booking the last available spaces for the peak holiday period. That means plenty of potential readers
with cash in their pockets and time on their hands could be enjoying your seasonal publication.
2018 should be even busier than last year, so why not give yours-elf (sic) an early Christmas present and ask about our unique DMD Media Wall placement opportunities?
These major public events offer superb brand awareness and sampling opportunities to visitors and participants via DMD Media Walls at Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and beyond.
Autumn Tests 2018
Edinburgh / 10, 17, 24 November
The final countdown to next year’s Rugby World Cup in Japan starts with the Autumn Tests. Scotland’s three formidable home games against Fiji, South Africa and Argentina are hosted at Murrayfield on consecutive Saturdays.
Edinburgh and nationally / 30 Dec – 1 Jan
The capital welcomes the very best live musicians and entertainers to celebrate Hogmanay in style, as party people from all over the world gather to bring in the New Year at one of the world`s biggest outdoor parties. And of course other organised festivities can be enjoyed in town and cities throughout Scotland.
New DMD distribution channels:
Wick, Sumburgh and Dundee Airports
An exciting new publisher opportunity: DMD has been invited to install a Media Wall in the main buildings of Wick Airport and Sumburgh Airport, Shetland.
Both Loganair and Eastern Airways fly daily to and from Wick, ferrying business and leisure passengers to Aberdeen and Edinburgh for connecting flights to London and Amsterdam Schipol – both major hubs for onward travel worldwide.
Wick is also a gateway for arriving visitors into a region offering the very best in outdoor sporting activities, from golf to mountain biking to sailing – and in particular the Assynt Mountain region, the country’s first UNESCO Geopark and a magnet for climbers from around the globe.
Sumburgh welcomed an additional 67,781 passengers last year, representing an increase of 9.3% year on year. The airport is a key gateway for the energy sector, serving the oil and gas fields off the Shetland coast.
Loganair and Flybe provide daily services between Sumburgh and Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Inverness and Kirkwall, also Bergen, Norway in summer months.
While newspaper allocations are already reserved there, we can still welcome interest from magazine publishers in these two prime DMD Media Wall locations.
Dundee hosts the closest airport serving St Andrews, the historic home of golf and a magnet for affluent devotees from around the world. It’s also the newest addition to our DMD Media Wall proposition, and now available to your publications.
Loganair runs a daily Dundee service to and from London Stansted, and the Dundee Airport Jet Centre also provides a comprehensive range of services for the attractive corporate jet sector.
A reminder to all our publisher friends that DMD is not just the world’s number one provider of print publications to the travel sector, but an industry leader in digital editions too!
We have many airline and rail operator clients offering digital magazines and newspapers in their lounges and onboard – including the BEAM WiFi service on Virgin Trains’ West Coast service linking London and Scotland.
Our expert DMD Digital team can advise on what formats work best for this market and how best to achieve them, so even publishers not yet operating in digital are very welcome to get in touch and find out more.
