The team at our Hong Kong operation DMD Greater China are more used to delivering bulk copies to airlines and airports than handing out copies on city streets, but that’s exactly what they have been up to recently.
As a novel extension of our specialist distribution service for Time Out Hong Kong we’ve left the comfort of our usual outlets in airside lounges, luxury hotels, clubs, bars and restaurants, and headed out onto the street for some very effective one-to-one promotion.
Since the magazine’s September re-launch DMD have been handling upwards of 160,000 Time Out copies per month across territory-wide outlets, including 130,000 new copies via street distribution.
“It’s been a really fun project for us all”, says Great China Country Manager Eva Tan. “From recruiting our enthusiastic young street team to managing the design and printing of special t-shirts, to getting out there and handing out the magazines ourselves. The new-look Time Out is a fantastic read, with something for everyone living in or visiting Hong Kong, so it was a perfect fit for a street campaign like this. I look forward to many more to come!”
